traveling collective sketchbook

Many of our regular collaborators will recognize the following sketchbook. Hildi and I started this project about 3 years ago, a traveling collective sketchbook, it never got a proper title, yet the time for its rebirth has come. We started passing it around our friends and they did with it as they pleased, adding their magic based on the creation before. It went around Miami and other South Florida cities, Puerto Rico, and Virginia. Each person had 1 week to work on it, even though a lot of us slacked and kept it for months at a time. Some really great things were created on it and it captured a whole cycle in our lives. Now it started getting a little heavy and crowded and would inevitably fall apart just from looking at it. For us that meant it was time to close this chapter and start another. The second book will sport the same hardcover but with a totally different life inside. So to celebrate this rebirth, here are some images from book #1! If you would like to get the second book sometime just let us know. Whether you participated in the first one or not, it doesn't matter. We're also looking to make it more varied so photographers, writers, and even musicians are welcome (just record a song or something and turn a page into a pocket to drop the cd in). Enjoy book 1!
